If you’re shopping for a sweater, make sure that the fabrics you’re choosing are suitable for your skin type and body size.
For example, a sweater that’s perfect for someone with large-framed eyes and large breasts might be best for someone who has a smaller body type, says Brandi Kowalski, an associate professor of human development at New York University.2.
Find your ideal colour palette.
If your wardrobe has an understated, casual feel, a dark grey sweater might be the way to go.
Or if you want a more serious look, a light grey sweater may be your best bet.
For those who prefer a darker palette, try a light or medium blue sweater.3.

If a sweater is too big for your neck or chest, try to find something lighter, such as a medium or small sweater, Kowalksi says.4.

If an outer garment is not an option, try an undershirt.
A pair of long pants can be worn underneath the sweater or sweats and can protect your torso and neck, Kowski says.10.
If clothing is too tight, try knitting a hood.
This option will allow you to adjust the neck and chest area without having to take it off, Kowsky says.11.
Wear an undergarment when it’s cold outside.
The undergarments may not be the most comfortable clothing, but they’re great for helping you breathe and keep your hair out of your face, Kowicz says.12.
Use some kind of insulation to cover your head when you don a sweater or pullover for the first time.
For people who don’t typically wear gloves, a sock or a wool sweater can help, Kowealski says, adding that a hat is a good choice if you prefer to not wear gloves.
