NFL players protesting police brutality to go to White House for a speech

The NFL players who have joined Black Lives Matter protests at the White House are going to attend a planned White House event this weekend, the league said on Friday.

The players will attend a forum on police brutality on Friday, the NFL said in a statement.

The players will “support, participate in and take part in the forum as part of the ongoing dialogue about how to ensure the safety of all communities,” the league added.

The NFL has been criticized for its handling of the protests, which have turned violent.

Last week, NFL players kneeled during the national anthem to protest racial inequality and police brutality.

The league has been struggling with low ratings and a lack of engagement with black voters and fans.

The team’s owners have also criticized the protests and the president has called for them to end.
