U.K. tech giant Peloton has been awarded a new $1.4 billion contract from the government of the U.S. for a new air ambulance, The Associated Press has learned.
The Air Ambulance Corporation of America will use the contract for about 2,000 ambulances, as well as for equipment upgrades.
The company says the contract will support the development of ambulances for the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain.
It’s not clear when the contract may be awarded.
It is the latest in a string of announcements that have been made with the Air Ambulation Corporation of the United States in recent months.
Earlier this month, the company announced a partnership with NASA to create the world’s first space-ready ambulance, and this month it unveiled a prototype of its first commercial air ambulance.
