Cryptocurrencies and other digital goods are booming.
With a market capitalization of more than $500 million, Alpha Apparatus has more than doubled in value since its debut in February.
It’s a new type of retailer, which aims to bring traditional retail to the digital realm.
Its founder and CEO, Ben Zweig, says it’s a big step toward building a platform for online retail that will enable online retailers to compete with brick-and-mortar retailers.
“We are building an ecosystem that allows online retailers and retailers of all types to work together,” he said.
“We are a platform that lets retailers of any type scale.”
Alpha Apparel’s business model, which focuses on a range of apparel and apparel crafts, is built around a single item.
Its website is a sort of virtual marketplace, where buyers can place orders on a variety of clothing items, including t-shirts, hats, shoes and more.
The website is currently undergoing a redesign, and Alpha Appares is also looking into new business models.
For now, Alpha is focused on offering apparel for sale through its website.
Zweigs team has also been working with e-commerce platform Shopify, which has been a big part of the startup’s growth.
Shopify allows sellers to sell clothing directly to customers through a website.
Alpha Apparels current business model allows retailers to sell their products through the website as well.
Zweiig says Alpha Apparls main focus right now is expanding its platform, which includes a marketplace where customers can buy apparel directly.
Alpha is also experimenting with a mobile app, which would allow retailers to ship merchandise directly to consumers.
“It’s a platform we’ve been exploring,” Zweiigs cofounder, Jeroen van den Heuvel, said.
Alpha has also opened an alpha beta program to test the app’s design and functionality.
“It’s just a very early version of what we want to do,” Zweigl said.
The company is working on several products that are ready to launch and Zweiigl said it plans to release a retail store to be sold in the near future.
“There’s some things we’ve got planned for that are not ready for launch yet,” he added.
